MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK

In 2026, the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is all about taking action.

As a former people leader, I always craved practical resources that I could use with my team. Posters were great, but starting a conversation was sometimes the hardest part.

So, why does employee engagement matter?

Highly engaged employees achieve more:

  • 78% less absenteeism

  • 23% higher profitability

  • 18% higher productivity

Line Managers are often time-poor, so I've designed a simple and practical conversation toolkit, called Bright Moments. It's an easy way to start a conversation about energy levels and find practical ways to sustain good energy.

It’s a tried and tested toolkit. Hear what Shannon Payne, Internal Communications Manager at Currys plc, has to say:

"I also want to express my thanks to Jess Albone for our session on bright moments and the thoughtful gift I received. It made my first day in this role special and serves as a daily reminder on my desk to prioritize activities that improve our day-to-day lives that makes us feel good! πŸ’œπŸ’›"

Making conversations easier to start is often the most important step, and tools that support open dialogue around energy, wellbeing, and engagement can make a real difference. It’s great to see a focus on turning awareness into something actionable and accessible for everyday use.”

I'd love to hear from you if you use the toolkit. Direct message Jess Albone on LinkedIn, or send an email to hello@jessalbone.co.uk.
