BUPA INTERNSHIPS PROGRAMME
Objective Support Bupa’s commitment to building a more inclusive and diverse workforce by delivering a high‑quality summer internships programme.
Execution As part of Bupa’s mission to create a better world, the Bupa Foundation partnered with Career Ready to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. I designed and delivered a structured Internships Programme, collaborating with subject matter experts across employment law, safeguarding, early careers, onboarding and property to ensure a safe, compliant and meaningful experience for every intern.
Within just 12 months, I successfully scaled the programme from 3 interns to 42, embedding a repeatable model that strengthened Bupa’s early‑talent pipeline and widened access to opportunity.

During the four‑week programme, the Bupa Careers team delivered a series of career‑insight sessions and employability workshops to help students transition confidently from school into a professional environment. Topics included resilience, communication, problem‑solving and collaboration — all designed to help students live Bupa’s values of being brave, caring and responsible.
Each student was matched with a dedicated supervisor who acted as both line manager and mentor throughout the internship. This structure not only provided meaningful support for the young people involved, but also offered Bupa employees the opportunity to develop their own leadership skills while experiencing first‑hand the value that early‑career talent brings to the organisation.
